9:00 pm - Midnight — LIVE BAND! Kick off SFLX at Wednesday Night Hop!
Wednesday Night Hop is proud to bring back Clint Baker & the Café Borrone All-Stars! Their distinctive New Orleans style jazz returns just before the beginning of SFLX! All registrants of SFLX will be allowd free entrance! We hope to attract some new people who are in town early for the exchange, so let's help them feel welcome by giving them something HOT to dance to!
For over 20 years, Clint Baker has led a New Orleans style jazz ensemble at Cafe Borroné in Menlo Park. Selecting only the best traditional jazz musicians to perform with him gives listeners the opportunity to be entertained by extraordinary music. The group is comprised of band leaders and key members of world class traditional jazz bands. The regular members of the Cafe Borrone All-Stars include: Clint Baker (various instruments), Leon Oakley (trumpet), Robert Young (reeds), Jim Klippert (trombone), Monte Reyes (guitar/banjo), and Bill Reinhart (bass). Band night will also be the launch of our September four week class series! Signing up for class automatically gets you into the dance with the band, so why not learn a thing or too as well! If you are already a Summer Swing participant, good for you! You're all taken care of until the end of this month!
Stay tuned during the band breaks, because Trevor and Audrey's Level 2 class will be performing the routine they learned last month in class and the Swing Cats Rhythm Revue will present another piece from the repertoire as well!
